Why a Website?

It’s not what you think it is.

A couple of years ago I went through my IG feed and deleted over 400 posts. I experienced a sort of social media burn-out. At the time I called it an "allergic reaction". Every time I opened the app I felt immediately irritated, angry, disgusted, sad. The content, comments, messages, captions. Everything just made me boil inside.

After a break, I started posting again. I had to. This is my professional activity. But I post a lot less. I try not to scroll. Or if I do, I watch reels with cute animals, plants and ballet dancers. Just doing all in my power to avoid swimsuits, underwear and naked bodies. Sounds funny coming from a nude model, doesn't it? Well, I overdosed on nudity.

I have nothing against the human body. I'm all for self-love, getting rid of shame and challenging the norms. But too much of anything isn't a good thing.

I'm nude at work, to begin with. Every movie, tv-show and theater production involves nudity today as if it was a requirement and I'm submerged in the endless supply of nipple-less boobs on my feed any time I pick up my phone. (I'm not going to touch on porn this time. But that also.) At this point, I've been exposed to so much that a human body looks like nothing more than a piece of meat to me. There's no more mystery, subtlety, space for imagination, unknown. All gone. Frankly, I find it really sad.

I didn't create this website because I wanted to show "more" or because I didn't agree with IG policies regarding sexual solicitation and pornographic content. I couldn't care less about the so-called censorship. Actually, in a way, I want to show "less". I want to share portraits, close ups of hands, horizontal photos, and an occasional picture of nature. All the things that typically don't do well on IG. Next to my nudes and my erotic work, which is up to this day my favorite genre to create.

Lot’s of contradictions here. I don’t understand it either.

I'll continue to play the IG game. Obviously. More attention -> more followers -> more jobs -> more money -> more bread on the table. But hopefully this website will allow me to draw a "fuller picture". Show sides that are left in the shadows on social media.
